Voice notes in two languages, even in one note

Updated 28 October 2026. By Workbench Soft.
Keeppad takes notes in English and in Russian with no language to pick. On Android 14 and newer, with the offline packs for both, one note can switch language at a pause.

Say the wake word your way

•
"Hey Keep" in English.
•
"Эй, Кип" in Russian. The wake word model hears both.
The model listens for the sound of the phrase on the phone. The sound stays on the phone until you say it.

How a note picks its language

•
The start a note starts in English or Russian, whichever sits higher in the phone's language list. A phone with neither starts in English.
•
The switch on Android 14 and newer, Google's on-device recognizer can change language mid note, at a pause. Android added this option in Android 14, as EXTRA_ENABLE_LANGUAGE_SWITCH.
•
The app language in Settings changes the menus only. Notes keep their own language.

Get both packs

1. Open Keeppad on Android 14 or newer.
2. Keeppad checks that the phone has the offline packs for English and Russian.
3. It asks the phone to download the missing ones. Let them finish on Wi-Fi.
Voice notes to text offline explains the packs and what to do if the download doesn't start.

On older phones

Without both packs, or before Android 14, each note keeps to one language: the one higher in the phone's language list. To dictate in the other, move it up in the phone's language settings.

Tips for mixed notes

•
Pause before you switch the recognizer changes language at a pause, not in the middle of a phrase.
•
Names stay as said a Russian name inside an English note may come out in Latin letters. Fix it by hand, the recording keeps the original.
•
Groups work in both Keeppad sorts by English and Russian words, so "купить молоко" lands in Shopping like "buy milk".
